Does the MapPoint Web Service support ZIP+4?

Does the MapPoint Web Service support ZIP+4 (10 digit ZIP codes like 99999-9999)? When I perform geocoding operations providing the ZIP+4, the "+4" part is stripped off; when I geocode providing the street address w/o the "+4" (which should provide enough info for the determination of the "+4" piece), I still just get back the 5 digit ZIP code. If ZIP+4 is NOT supported by the Web Service, this is a VERY SERIOUS shortcoming in the U.S. marketplace.

Hello,

There are no plans at present to add support for zip+4. To be perfectly honest I've only had 1 other customer (that I recall) in the last 1 1/2 years even ask about this. I'll be more than happy to pass this on as an enhancement request but I don't see it being added in the near future.

Zip+4

You should be prepared for people to ask for zip+4. I'm working on a project that requires zip+4 addressing (since we want to get down to the street level of detail) and there can be very large demographic differences based on what street you live in for any particular zip.

We've had to abandon MapPoint because it is not capable of handling this work.

Same Problem

We are having the same problem. What did you go to that will allow you to have zip + 4?

As long as we're registering votes here, I have also been asked to return a zip +4 for a client.

MWS supports zip+4 in the current release (v. 4.2) through the Find and FindAddress method.

Re: Does the MapPoint Web Service support ZIP+4?

I would cast my vote for this functionality as well. Our application is dependent on zip 5 + 4 data. Zip 5 is just not enough!
