| Drive Time Isozones I need to evaluate the population base that can be reached within a 1 to 2 day drive from various cities selected as for the location for a distribution center. Unfortunately MapPoint will only "drive" < 999 minutes. Thanks!

| 2 days is 960 minutes...
If you drive 8 hours a day, that's 960 minutes... But if that's not good enough, you can do a clumsy approximation on city at a time by creating multiple drive time zones. Just go to the furthest vertices of you 999 minute timezone, then right click and add another drivetime zone at that point for the additional number of minutes you need. Repeat for other major vertices. Not speedy or automatic, but if you have a limited number of them it should be too painful. Good luck. |

Thanks, I found another solution to also consider: You can also use a simple trick to get around the 999 minute limit: increase the average driving speeds before creating the drive time. For example, if you double the default speeds (interstate speed from 65 to 130 mph, streets from 20 to 40 mph, etc.) and then enter a drive time of 900 minutes, you will get a drive time that is equivalent to 1800 minutes (or 30 hours) at the default speeds.
