Embedding MP within BorlandC++Builder5

Hi

I think it can be done but I can't do it. Here's what I have done so far;
1. in BorlandC++Builder5 imported the ActiveX Control "mappointcontrol.ocx" in the \Program Files\Microsoft Mappoint Europe directory. This registers the control and the Mappoint Pushpin icon appears in the ActiveX tab. OK.
2. I then try to drag a copy of the icon onto a form to create a component and an error message appears "no such interface supported".

What is happening?
What have I done wrong?
How can I embed Mappoint in BorlandC++Builder5?

mappoint and borland

My tip to you would be to run screaming whilst you still can.
Secondly learn to use vb and do it in that.
Thirdly pursue borland as follows:

Microsoft helpfully did not allow the ocx component to work with anything other than VB so here's what you have to do:

Project.. Import Type Library
choose microsoft mappoint from the list (from memory there are 2)
one of them has 3 components TMap, TApp and something else.
Install this.
Then on your form add an ole container from the system tab
you can place TMap and TApp objects on your form and link them to the ole container.

Search this newsgroup for borland related things and i think there are some examples - at worst from memory mp2kmag has an example done in delphi that you can port.

Hope this helps
Shaun
