Exporting Data for Matched Records

I am trying to use MapPoint to verify addresses in a database. When I import the addresses, I go through the match process to verify the ambiquous addresses. When I export from the MapPoint map that is created, I get the data I imported not the matched data. This is most noticeable when I don't have a city, state, or zip code in the file being imported. Out of a file with 246 records missing these fields, I was able to match 205 on street address alone. When I exported the resulting dataset, the city, state, and zipcode columns were present but blank.

Thank you,

Hi,

I am not sure I understand very well the question!
You import 246 addresses and 205 only are found by MapPoint.
When you export the map there is no zipcode and other information for the unmatched data.

I think it's normal because the unmatched addresses are added in the center of your country without a complete address information.

You can have some control on that if you use the ResultsQuality Property and the ParseStreetAddress Method. But that needs some Activex Programming!

Ciao

I did not have any updated information in the matched records. The reason I was trying to import these records was to: 1) verify records that had complete information (street address, city, state, and zipcode) and 2) "fill in" records where the information was incomplete. This didn't happen because the dataset that was exported was identical to the spreadsheet that was imported from.

Hi,

It is not clear to me if you use mappoint standalone program, or programming yourself. Can you elaborate ?

I am using it standalone. I could program a routine to export a dataset from matched records if I have to. I just don't see why I should have to. I did my non-functional export from the dataset rather than from a selected section of a map. That shouldn't make a difference - should it?

Thanks,

I am not adverse to taking a shot at a programmed solution. It seems to me that a simple data dump should do the trick - if it includes the data acquired through matching.
