I went to the Mobile GPS website. Is this product legal? It claims to have real-time tracking, which is no longer a permitted use of MP2004. The site also shows a GPS enabled cell phone. The EULA clearly states that it is illegal to use MP 2004 with a PDA, cell phone, or any other mobile device. In the event this is a legal product, every vehicle will need a MP2004 license, which makes it a very, very expensive solution.

Microsoft has severly restricted the use of MP2004 for Tracking and Fleet applications in the license agreement.

I don't have an answer for you, but would point out it does not claim to have real-time tracking, in fact just the opposite:

"GPSTrackP uses GPS data loggers to collect tracking data. It is not a real time tracking system yet it offers 90% of the features with no monthly or ongoing costs."

Eric is correct, GPSTrackP is not a real time tracking system. It is more like a business management system. It uses Mappoint to map the trip data collected by a GPS data logger. These data might be collected one day ago, one week ago or one month ago.

Perhaps I am naive. I just assumed when you call a a product "Real Time Tracking" that is what it does. I also assumed the image of a mobile phone, means you can use a mobile phone to do the "real time tracking." (Which still violates the license.)

If your "real time tracking" product is not real time, that means a client would require a $300 MapPoint license for each asset being tracked, and there is a 50 asset limit.

I guess you confused GPSTrackP with GPSTrackRT. GPSTrackRT is planned for real-time tracking. But it has never got ready for release.
Because the license limitation, we are thinking to change GPSTrackRT's mapping software.

Who knows who can offer mapping software similar to Mappoint, but without license limitation?
