Hi, Quote:
1- Directly from Mappoint, you have to draw a shaded area and export it to excel. In Access you import again your Excel data. You can't calculate directly Latitude and Longitude of your addresses. 2. But, You can do that programatically If you want to do that Just give us more details about your needs... Ciao |

Nope I'm talking about the data isnide the \data folder. There already are all the routes, with addresses in the Mappoint without importing your own data. If for example you zoom on the map to the max details, you can see the addresses on the map wight clicking with the mouse. Therefore Mappoint already have ALL the addresses with the association to the lat/long coordinates. I need to grab these information (address, number, coordinates) to an external file. This is useful for me to find the right coordinates for any addresses. Mappoint has all this inside the data files, how can I grab, capture, see, handle them ?? |

So, just open that Access EuroDemo.mdb ou UsaDemo.mdb file. I can't give the password, but making a good search in this forum you can find by yourself |

Hah... In that database you have only the Demographics data! You can't grab all data existing in Mappoint about all the addresses. In a small zone you can do that programatically. Do a search here about methods for obtaining lat/lon ( calcpos, and so on ). I did a program like that to check if I have all the streets existing in Paris, and I remember that my computer was working all the night for that. |

Thanks but I still need some help. Let say it easier: I have an Acess mdb database which contains the name, address, postcode and cities of my customers. I want to extract for them the lat/long coordinates. So how can I communicate to MP from Access ? I have thousands of customers and the corrodinates are useful to map them in Google Earth too. Not that easy uh ? |

Import your data into MapPoint using MapPoint's Data Import Wizard. Then use John Meyer's Pushpin Tool to find the coordinates. This will give you them in Excel. Alternatively write a little program to do it. You will need to use VBA or VB6 (or any COM-aware language), and this approach could write directly into the Access database. Richard
