Importing a route and viewing with Mappoint

Is there a method to import a defined route and view the driving directions in the current order (not Optimized)? I have over 200 stops and do not want to manually re-order them.

I would say that the Route.Calculate method doesn´t change the order of waypoints, so that´s exactly how you want it. So, be sure that you assign the waypoints in the desired order to the route.

On the other hand, for changing and optimizing the order you´ll need to execute Waypoints.Optimize.

Greetings, Jack.

Thanks for your reply. I am attempting to import a route to Mappoint and view the current driving directions "as-is" (before optimization) When I add pushpins as stops and go to route planner they are not in the order of import. Therefore, I cannot get the current driving directions without manually re-ordering. Any ideas?

QueryAllRecords

I suppose you perform a 'QueryAllRecords' after importing the dataset and unfortunately this doesn´t return the records in the original order.
My suggestion is that you add an extra field to your dataset before importing (an index that describes the desired order) and in your program you add the waypoints using this index.

Greetings, Jack.

Jack,
I want to thank you for your ideas. I am having the same problem as the other posters. I have a list of waypoints. Each waypoint is listed with its corresponding latitude and longitude coordinates. In my list, I have also marked the corresponding order / priority in which I plan to take the route. I would like to be able to import all of this information automatically, and then have MapPoint read the order / priority automatically, to generate the route.

The format for the data is an Excel spreadsheet

To this point, I can get all the data into MapPoint, but it requires that I manually prioritize my stops. With several hundred stops, this is taking a long time.

Is there any way that MapPoint will recognize the list and the order in which I have placed my stops?

Thank you for your help. Regards, Chris
