Need MapPoint for Apple Mac

As a long time MapPoint (and prior user of Automap) and recent convert to Apple's OS X operating system, I hope the Microsoft will release MapPoint for the Mac soon.

Certainly agree with Eric that a Mac OS X MapPoint would be a big plus. I have had to buy a hateful Windows PC just to run MP, which it does very unwillingly, and swapping data is a pain.
However I saw a Microsoft announcement somewhere on their site which said there were no plans for a Mac version. That was earlier in the summer as I recall.

MS has very few and only major apps available for the Mac and I think none of their Geography products. I would be very surprised if they supported it ever.

You might try Virtual PC.. I don't know anything about it but see this post:

BTW, what Mac mapping apps are out there?

There is a geographic mapping application suite called TNT (which I have but find too complicated to use). It came from one of the American universities websites. It is Unix-based I think and makes use of X-Daemon and darwin, whatever those are.

Other than that my searches, from here in UK, found no mapping applications that were mac-native.

I am a bit chary about the virtual PC route, anyone have any experience of this?

It looks like DeLorme used to have a Mac version? I found this which refers to it..:

You might find some other reference to Mac mapping software there..
