how to upload map to my server

Hi,

I would like to upload the map that I see to my server.
I tried to "Save as htm" but this was only 2kB , not a picture.

I would like to find an easy way to convert the current map to a jpg or gif.
Then I can save this jpg to harddisk and use Inet- control to upload it to a server.

Or has somebody better idea???

Thanks for your advice,

Wim

There should have been a subdirectory with the same name (referenced by the html file) that contains the image.. you should be able to upload both the html file and the subdirectory to your web site and it would work..

If you have trouble with that, see a past MP2Kmag article that shows another approach method (more flexible):

Hi Eric,

Just 1 question ....

I found :

objmap.SaveAs("c:\gps\map1.html",geoFormatHTMLMap, True)

but looks that I cannot use this when I use mappointcontrol1 in VB???

mappointcontrol1.saveas doesn't exist?

Thanks for y advice

Wim

From the Help file:

SaveAs method
Saves the specified map or template. Not available for embedded maps or the MapPoint Control.

more info about upload map to server

So there is no way to save as webpage or jpg directly?(in my VB program that uses mappointcontrol)

Would it be possible to write a COM , that uses objmap.saveas htmlmap?
Can the same COM also uses Internet and RS232 control?

I never made COM , so noty sure if I can do the same then in my VB program...

Thanks for help

Wim
