  TIMESHARES

Helpful Information About Timeshares

What is Timeshare?

Timeshare is a method of vacation property ownership, where many vacationers own certain time periods per year at a designated resort. There are currently seven million owners with timeshares on six continents. Timeshares are probably so popular because of several key features that distinguish them from other forms of vacationing.

Timeshares are diverse and consistently high in quality. They are diverse in not only there locations, but also in their style and amenities. You can find timeshare chalets slope side on ski mountains, villas on paradisiacal beaches, suites in both the city and the countryside. Some are large with several pools, a spa and tennis courts while some are small with only peace and quiet. Different holiday plans dictate different lodging needs; a Las Vegas getaway may require more extravagance than a rustic escape to Tuscany.

How to find Timeshares for Sale

The easy way to find timeshares for sale is through the resorts that own them. However, this is where some negative connotations about timeshares indeed arise. Buying directly from resorts means inflated prices and high-pressure sales presentations. Some resorts have also been known to give out inaccurate information in order to coerce people into buying certain property. There is a way to avoid all this.

Timeshare resales are the same property as those offered by resorts, except they are for sale by owner. Timeshare resales are most easily found online where resale companies have extensive listings of property all over the world. More often than not, buyers can save thousands when existing owners sell timeshare. The quality and amenities don't change and you can search for this property at your own pace.

More Options

Some consumers may not realize that timeshares can also be rented out. If you are interested in vacation property ownership, but aren't sure if it will fit your lifestyle, you may benefit from trying a rental. Also on the resale market, timeshares for rent are a good way to check out particular resorts and destinations. It is usually a one-time thing where there is no obligation after the use and no maintenance fees.

Do some research and make sure that the company you do business with is reliable. They should be registered with the Better Business Bureau and have a satisfactory record. Timeshares are unique, but not for everyone. It is always worth looking into, though, to see if it is something you can benefit from.
