New at MP2K Magazine - 4/18/2003
We
have settled on Fridays as the publication day for this and all subsequent
MP2K Magazine newsletters. Newsletters are sent out monthly in the middle
of the month. MP2K Magazine is your independent source for MapPoint news
and information.
First, from various sources we have heard rumors that the next versions of
MapPoint (the desktop products, both the North American and European releases)
will be called MapPoint 2004 and are targeted for release in late summer
this year (with the respective Streets and Trips and AutoRoute products to
come out soon after that). You can expect additional detailed coverage in
some areas such as Puerto Rico and Sweden in the corresponding releases. We will let you know as soon as we find out more.
Current Events: In the past few weeks we have been featuring some maps of the Iraq War constructed by Mike Mueller with MapPoint. We also recently published a map in the Map Gallery of suspected SARS cases in the U.S.
In this issue, we are featuring a programming article by Sergiy Pavlov on
how to get additional functionality from the MapPoint Control. This is only
Part I -- stayed tuned for the next segment. Sergiy originally posted his
solution in the MP2Kmag forum where much discussion ensued.

Finally, consider write
