Using MapPoint to Learn More About Today's Disasters

MP2K staff prepared several screenshots to highlight some key locations where the terrorist actions took place on Sept. 11, 2001.

The locations where the hijacked planes struck buildings leading to the loss of an uncounted number of lives:

Another plane crashed in Shanksville, south of Johnstown, PA. It has been speculated that the intended target was Camp David on the Catoctin Mountain.

Explosions were reported in Kabul, Afghanistan, leading to speculation that America was retaliating. Early reports, however, suggest it is local fighting.

Visit the GIS Community's Response to post your own maps and ideas for conveying spatial/geographic elements about this ongoing tragedy.
