316 Bert Beckman - August 8, 2001

I am using MP2001. When I created a sized circle map based on 13,000+ postal codes I get a message that says something to the effect of more than 8 classes and the map doesn't seem right. What does it mean and how do I correct?

Answer:

I suspect you are using the "multiple symbol" option when mapping your data. This is a new 2002 feature that allows you to assign a separate icon to each of up to 8 categories of data. You can indicate in which column the category data is stored. If the column you indicate has more than 8 different values, you will get an error message to this effect.

So, our suggestion would be to ensure that you use the Pushpin option when mapping your data.
