Mappoint 2002 - can a control not an application be implented into a Visual C++ 6.0 Application. Are there any code samples or documentation on Mappoint and Visual C++ Thank You

Answer:

The MapPoint ActiveX Control is only officially certified by Microsoft for use inside a Visual Basic 6.0 application. Code samples and documentation are therefore restricted to Visual Basic 6.0.

However, the ActiveX Control appears to work pretty well with other common languages. There are some known issues with the MapPoint Control in C++, in the area of screen redraws, but some MapPoint solution providers seem to have found acceptable workarounds.

Another piece of information we can share with you is that the Control works well with Microsoft's new C# language - MapPoint was even included in Bill Gates' .NET keynote demo at TechEd a few months ago.
