I wonder if there is a way to import MP2k2 data into MP2k1 software? Or at least convert the 2002 ptm file so it works with 2001 version? The "old" version keeps telling me that it is invalid.

Answer:

While MapPoint 2002 can import .PTM files created with MapPoint 2001, there is no way to save a map in MapPoint 2001 format. It may have to do with the fact that unlike e.g. Office applications, beyond the format used, the underlying maps are also different. It doesn't make too much sense to map new addresses using obsolete mapping data.
