I'm trying to write a VB MapPoint app that assists in a delivery business. This app would contain client's addresses, perform routing info and finally export to PocketStreets. Will PocketStreets be able to handle exported Routes? And will will PocketStreet support GPS?
Answer:
Pocket Streets doesn't include a routing feature. When you export a MapPoint map to Pocket Streets, it exports the road data and any pushpins, but nothing else.
A service release for Pocket Streets has just been released by Microsoft. This service release (SR1) adds GPS and Pocket Outlook integration to the version of Pocket Streets that ships with MapPoint 2002 and Streets & Trips 2002.
Pocket Streets 2002 SR1 can be downloaded for free from http://www.microsoft.com/pocketstreets.
