After installing MapPoint 2002, whenever I open a Word 2000 document which contains graffics, the document opens displaying a lot of internal reference markers and general gibberish. I have noticed that if I reinsert the initial graffic, close the word document with saving and reopen the word document, most of the time the correctly formated content will be available. I have a friend who has installed Publisher 2002 and is having the same problem. Any solutions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:

I'm not sure what the cause of this problem could be. MapPoint, like most other 2002 Office Family Member products, installs some updated Office DLLs. Your information would suggest that this is causing a conflict with Word 2000. I suggest you report this to Microsoft's support group.
