Can 'customer symbols" be saved within the MapPoint resource symbol file ? I want them to always be available when selecting symbols.

Answer:

Custom symbols cannot be saved into the MapPoint resource file, but they can be saved with a document or template.

Create a new map. Add a pushpin, right-click it, select Properties, and import a Custom Symbol. Save the file, then delete the pushpin and save the file again. The custom symbol is now in the document.

You can save this file as a template instead of a document. You can even save it as the "default template" - which means it will come up automatically when you start MapPoint. Instructions on how to save your file as the default document can be found in the Help file (search for "template" and select the "Change the default template" topic).
