  MAPPOINT Q & A

Have successfully exported a map selection from MapPoint2002 to Pocket Streets on my IPAQ. Looks good, however map appears distorted/squashed.Any ideas why?

Answer:

The map style displayed by Pocket Streets is quite different from the one used by MapPoint. Streets are drawn as single lines, not the nice double line with fill color you see in MapPoint. There are other differences too, but the map should not look distorted or squashed.

Check the pictures on http://www.microsoft.com/pocketstreets/using/streetsmart.htm. The picture on the left is MapPoint, the one on the right Pocket Streets (with "dark" map style, I think the default is "light" which gives you a light yellow background).

If your iPAQ shows something very different, you have a problem and should contact Microsoft support.
