My company recently purchased two copies of the MapPoint 2002 60-day trial software. The two users who are evaluating the software are using Windows NT 4.0 and do not have administrative rights to the local machine. The trail software was installed under the administrator user ID and works fine when logged on as the administrator. When logged on as the actual user, the trial software thinks that the software has expired. I have tried giving the user administrative rights and re-installing the software but the software still says it has expired. Is there anyway to correct this problem?

Answer:

You should try downloading and running the fix Microsoft provide at https://microsoft.order-1.com/mappoint/troubleshoot.asp. This doesn't always work but it may do in your case.
