Can I freely distribute applications with the mappoint activex component in it. Or is there a licensing fee for each user? If there is a licensing fee how much is it.

No, each user of an application that includes the MapPoint ActiveX Control needs to own a MapPoint ActiveX Control license.

There are three ways to license the Control. The first and easiest is to buy MapPoint 2002 (it includes a license for the Control). The second is to purchase a MapPoint Product Integration Pack (PIP) - a 10-pack of MapPoint licenses for redistribution. A PIP 10-pack costs around $1450. The third option is to sign an ISV Royalty Agreement with Microsoft. This is only possible for high-volumes of licenses (1000+ units) but it provides by far the most aggressive discounts.
