Topographic Mapping. I would like to find some raw data to import into MapPoint 2001 so that when I display maps, I can see a graphic representation of the topography of the are being displayed. Where can I get such data, and how can I get MapPoint to use/display it for me? Thanks

Answer:

MapPoint doesn't allow users to bring in their own core map data, but through the object model it is possible to bring in vector data like ESRI/MapInfo formats as a drawing overlay. Microsoft will soon be releasing sample code that demonstrates how this is done. I'm not sure what the best source of topographic data is - maybe you should check at www.topozone.com or another GIS data vendor.
