I am using MP2000 and want to import data collected from a XML application (part of my masters degree). What fields - specifically address related fields should be included in the XML page and what would the format be? XML is very flexible, so I need to work out a simple schema that is geared towards an import into MP2k.

Answer:

MapPoint won't import XML files through the user interface, so you'll have to write some code that parses XML and feeds the right pieces of information to MapPoint. The information MapPoint needs is the same set of fields that come up when you try to match data from Excel or another supported data format - a variety of geographic references like street address, postal code, country, etc.
