i have a file in excel that is over 2000 and mappoint will not allow it to link over 2,000 values. very big issue. please help.

Answer:

What version of MapPoint are you using? The current version of MapPoint (2002) has a limit of 10,000 records per batch for importing data by street address. In older versions this batch limit was lower.

I can suggest three solutions. First, if you are using MapPoint 2000 or 2001, upgrade to 2002 to up the batch limit to 10,000 records. Second, if you match by ZIP code (or anything other than street address), there is no limit. Third, the limit is a "per batch" limit, but you can bring in as many batches as you want (as separate pushpin sets...but in most cases that's not an issue). This means you can split your Excel sheet into record sets of 2,000 rows (or 10,000 for the 2002 version), and import these in separate batches.
