498 Ted Gallant - November 15, 2001

I cannot install my copy of MapPoint 2002 either custom or express. It is telling me that I am missing the file msmap\pfiles\msmap\usa.vlf. Where can I get a patch. I have checked the Microsoft web site but nothing is there that can help. I have looked on both disks and it is not there either. Thanks Ted

Answer:

I've never seen this error before. Sometimes these missing file errors during installation from CD are caused by a dust on the CD, but if this missing file doesn't actually exist on the CD, that's a different matter. I checked on the CD set that I installed from and I can't find this file either, so it isn't a required file for a successful install.
