Is there a way to determine the minimum distance between two shape objects in Mappoint 2002? Or the minimum distance between a point and a shape? This is a feature common in every other GIS package I've used, but I have not found any documentation for it in Mappoint. Thanks in advance!

Answer:

There's two ways I would approach this.. 1. Iterate over the Vertices property (which is an array of Locations) of the two shapes and calculate the distance using the Distance method for each combination to find the pair of vertices that are closest. 2. Use Walt Cygan's exporter example to dump the shapes out to mif/mid and plug them into another software package for analysis/processing..
