Is it possible to save a MapPoint file in a form readable to MSStreets? (I can see that MapPoint can open MSStreets files, I want the other direction too).

Answer:

There is no simple way. You could check on the MapPoint newsgroup microsoft.public.mappoint or the Streets-Trips newsgroup microsoft.public.streets-trips. Maybe someone has done something heroic.
