I use Microsoft Streets & Trips 2002; is there a way to stop all the city and town names from being displayed? A way to alter the present software coding?

I'm not very familiar with Streets & Trips, but if it's anything like MapPoint, then the answer is no, you can't completely remove them. You can minimize them using the Map Style and Map Font options.
