With MapPoint 2002, is it possible to hook various windows messages such as WM_PAINT for the map?

Paul, you might try a c/c++ forum for expert help on how to go about accomplishing this. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I think you can use tools included with Visual Studio to examine/spy on low-level windows events/messages.. - Eric
