MSN MapPoint Upgrades
This is the first version of MSN MapPoint built on the public commercial version of MapPoint .NET, not the internal only predecessor product (still used by Expedia, Carpoint and others).
Some highlights:
- updated maps and driving directions, including route highlights
- find address added in Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium
- turn by turn maps in driving directions. (Unlike MapQuest, these are customizable so you can show whichever maps you want; also the turns are logically clustered so you don’t get separate maps for points that are very close together and show practically the same area)
- option to save to Pocket PC for maps and driving directions
- improved map navigation (you can zoom on click or center on click, for example) and user interface (some tweaks to the location of controls to improve discoverability & usability, some visual design refinements)
- reverse directions and bigger maps are now available
